India's 'Insallah Football' bags Dubai Film Fest Award

 The 7th Dubai International Film Festival wrapped up with a glittering ceremony honouring the best of world and regional cinema, with Indian documentary 'Inshallah, Football' bagging the Special Mention award.

Directed by Asvin Kumar, 'Inshallah, Football' is a poignant drama about a young Kashmiri boy obsessed with football but trapped by circumstances. It was cited in the Muhr AsiaAfrica category. The documentary revolves around  the story of a young Kashmiri boy, son of a Hizbul Mujaheedin ex-militant, who dreams of playing football  in Brazil. But in the valley of Kashmir, where there is 1 armyman for every 20 civillian, way of life and silent war gets in his way.

The festival, which ended Sunday, played host to 157 films from 57 countries, which included an array of contemporary Arab cinema, a competition focused on the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Arab world, Asia and Africa.
